Kahn Design Unveils the Porsche Macan Dakar Concept

Kahn Design has revealed the Porsche Macan Dakar Concept, a new direction for its expanding Macan programme that places the model firmly within a performance category it has not previously occupied. Presented today as a concept ahead of a production version expected in early 2027, it arrives at a moment when the performance market has developed a genuine appetite for cars built to deliver speed on any surface, tarmac or otherwise.

That shift has been led by the Porsche 911 Dakar, the Lamborghini Sterrato and the Ford Ranger Raptor. Kahn Design's concept applies the same thinking to the Macan for the first time, extending a programme that already includes the Hammerhead forged wheel range and Cobalt Tartan interior package into genuinely off-road territory.

Built for Any Surface

Based on the petrol-powered Macan, the concept gains a 30mm suspension lift for the increased ground clearance the Dakar positioning demands, with widened arches accommodating a broader wheel and tyre package and added protection built into the bodywork at the car's widest points. It sits on 20-inch Hammerhead wheels, finished in satin black with a polished lip and wrapped in all-terrain tyres that strike a deliberate balance between road manners and off-road capability. For owners planning to spend more time away from tarmac, an 18-inch fitment is also available, offering the full off-road experience the concept has been engineered around.

Protection, Built to Be Used

Front and rear skid plates in silver matte sit beneath a front A-bar framing the nose, completed by a bonnet mask and a full-length roof rack rated for genuine load carrying, built to be used rather than simply admired. Both the rack and mask carry mounting points in Volcanic Orange for limb risers, cables designed to deflect branches away from the cabin when travelling at speed through denser terrain. All exterior protective elements are finished in Kahn Design's Volcanic Raptor paint, a textured, off-road protective finish developed specifically for applications of this kind.

Drawing on Porsche's Own Heritage

The Ducktail

At the rear, a body-colour boot ducktail spoiler draws its inspiration from the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7, a detail that ties the concept back to Porsche's own performance heritage rather than looking outward for reference.

The Paris-Dakar Palette

The colour story deliberately nods to the Porsche 959 that competed in the Paris-Dakar rally, whose blue, orange, and white combination remains one of the most recognisable colourways in the marque's competition history. Kahn Design translates that palette into a modern application rather than a literal recreation: cobalt blue reserved for the cabin, orange picked out through the exterior's functional hardware, and Pure White forming the base the whole design is built around, chosen deliberately as the ideal canvas for rally-inspired liveries, whether applied now or specified by future owners.

The Cobalt Tartan Cabin

Inside, the concept carries Kahn Design's Cobalt Tartan interior package unchanged, pairing the brand's bespoke woven tartan insert with premium Black Nappa leather across the cabin. The pairing of a heritage-inspired interior with a genuinely off-road exterior reflects the concept's broader intention: a Macan built to feel as considered inside as it is capable outside.
