To commemorate the 75th year of the Land Rover Defender and the 25th anniversary of Kahn Design, British designer Afzal Kahn launches the new Defender Heritage Remastered by Chelsea Truck Company, paying homage to Land Rover's HUE166.
The Heritage Remastered is an evolution of the Chelsea Truck Company Defender Programme, a lineage of tailored Land Rover conversions dating back to 2012.
The timeless, refined styling of the Heritage Remastered is available in 90, 110, and 130 wheelbases and includes a three-piece lower bumper valance, an overhaul of components painted in body-colour, "Colours of Kahn" exclusive colour change, and subtle arch extensions, which seamlessly house the signature 22-inch body-coloured British Heritage RS-Forged Wheels; culminating in the full replacement OEM+ quality Heritage lattice Grille.
The new Heritage Remastered is fitted with the distinctive full replacement Grille, a retro-futuristic nod to Land Rover's last-of-line edition, emblazoned with the contrasting 90 or 110 graphic.
The Heritage Grille is the centerpiece of the Heritage Remastered, which required 2 years of developing, prototyping, and engineering to match the classically styled grille to the modern cues of the new Defender.
Design cues include the square light signature in the current Defender's taillights, and the prominent square front grille seen on the iconic HUE166.
The windows machined into the iconic British Heritage RS-Forged Wheels continue the square cues of the latest Defender while emulating the steel wheels seen throughout the Defender's lifetime.
Ahead of the body colour wheels perches the three-piece lower bumper valance, also body-coloured, gently accentuating the vehicle's roots to pay homage to the full-width steel bumpers seen on previous generations of Land Rover Defender.
Adding to the timeless styling of the Heritage Remastered is a contrast ivory roof and body coloured taillight surrounds, separating the light housing to harmonise with the Heritage Grille whilst also matching those found on historical Defenders.
The Heritage Remastered is offered in a range of traditional tones from the "Colours of Kahn" collection, inspired by 75 years of Land Rover's history.
A limited-edition spare wheel cover finishes off the exterior overhaul, bringing the numbered grille graphic to the rear.
In contrast to the exterior styling, the interior is available in a range of traditional options from Saddle Tan Leather to a Vintage Cloth Houndstooth, complete with a wood-effect steering wheel* retaining all factory functionality.
The Heritage Remastered vehicles are meticulously carried out at Kahn Laboratories by our in-house specialist technicians and upholsterers.
