Kahn Design Reintroduces the RSX, Reworked in FORGED Form for 2026

By Douglas Topott· July 31, 2026

There are wheel designs, and then there are icons. In the story of Kahn Design, few carry the weight of the RSX. Reintroduced for 2026 and rebuilt entirely in forged construction, it rejoins the growing KAHN® Forged collection not as a reissue, but as a genuine reinterpretation, one that keeps everything that made the original unforgettable while rebuilding it, spoke by spoke, around the brand's current design language.

A Design With History

First introduced in 2005, the original RSX was never simply a wheel. It was a statement. Its ten-spoke, cross-spoke architecture drew a clear line back to the wire wheels of classic coachbuilt motoring, reworked through a distinctly Bradford lens into something unmistakably modern. The crossing spokes at the centre of the face gave it a woven, almost hand-finished quality, setting it apart from the more predictable spoke patterns of the era.

It went on to become one of the defining Kahn Design wheels of its generation, fitted across everything from Range Rover to BMW's X Series, and remains, to this day, among the most requested designs in the company's back catalogue. Some wheels sell. This one built a following.

Rebuilt for 2026, Not Simply Recreated

For its return, the RSX has been reworked as a forged wheel, joining the KAHN® Forged range and inheriting all the benefits forging brings over cast construction: greater strength, reduced weight, and a sharper, more precise execution of detail. It is available in 22-inch and 23-inch fitments, engineered specifically for the Land Rover family across the L663, L460, and L461 platforms, and finished in a satin black that suits its more sculpted, contemporary face.

This is not a wheel pulled from the archive and lightly updated. It has been rebuilt from the ground up, carrying the spirit of the original forward without repeating a single detail unchanged.

The Detail at the Centre of It All

Every generation of RSX has been defined by what happens where the spokes meet the rim. On the original, that meeting point was a single, abrupt drop, a small step that closed the design off cleanly. The 2026 wheel takes that idea further, introducing a second, deeper step to form what Kahn Design calls a double tangent break across the face.

The effect is a far more layered, sculpted profile than the original ever allowed, and one that nods, deliberately but never directly, toward the brand's RS wheel, arguably the most recognised design Kahn Design has ever produced.

The centre of the wheel tells its own story too. Where the original RSX ran its cross-spoke pattern across a conventional hub, the new design frames the centre cap and PCD area within a distinct star-shaped surround. It is a small change with a significant effect: the wire-wheel graphic now projects further forward, giving the impression that the spokes continue behind the wheel rather than simply stopping at the hub. A floating Kahn centre cap completes the design, in keeping with the rest of the current wheel range.

In Afzal Kahn's Words

"The RSX has always held a special place in our history. It was one of the wheels that helped establish what Kahn Design stands for. Bringing it back as a forged wheel, built properly around where our design language sits today, felt like the right way to mark its return. I see this as the most complete modernisation of the wire wheel concept we've produced." Chief Designer Afzal Kahn
