The Rolls Royce of TX4 Taxi Cabs

Mar 3, 2021

By

In a world where taxis are regarded as vehicles that get you from A to B without offering much luxury to passengers who pay for the privilege to be driven around, the Kahn London Taxi TX4 ‘Last of Line Editions’ is the only exception.

Designed by Afzal Kahn himself, only five of the London Taxi TX4 models have been made.

It is such a swanky ride; being chauffeured around the streets of London in a TX4 which media colleagues refer to as the “Rolls-Royce of TX4 cabs,” you will never look at a taxi in the same way again.

Step inside and one will find quilted and perforated Nappa leather throughout.

The headliner is scattered with starlight – a stunning feature commonly seen in Rolls-Royce vehicles, piano black trim, a leather-trimmed wheel, colour-coded seat belts, Last of Line door sills and a plaque bearing Afzal Kahn’s signature completes the Kahn cabin makeover.

“While it is sad to see a beautiful, iconic vehicle reach the end of its life, it is a great honour to re-design and celebrate what is truly one of the most famous cars in the world,” said Afzal Kahn.

Four models of the London Taxi TX4 have already been sold, and it is envisaged Mr Kahn himself will sell the remaining model to one lucky customer.

A London Taxi spokesperson said Afzal Kahn was the only designer to give the London Taxi the send off it deserves.

“Afzal Kahn is famous for his original designs and willingness to push the boundaries, and we admire his ability to capture the essence of a vehicles’ character.

“We believe he is the best designer to give this iconic vehicle the send-off it deserves.”
